White With 1 - October

I am so excited to share my first 'official' Creative Team member layout for White With 1 with you! October is all about watermelon.

Her story

Susan organised for us all to receive some fabulous 2Crafty chipboard to play with whilst creating our layouts. I loved it. I haven't used chipboard a great deal on my layouts in quite some time. Which is really strange given I was one of the original 'chipboard queens'!! Less than 12 months into scrapbooking I bought a Big Shot so I could die-cut my own chipboard elements. When other die-cut, and then laser cut, chipboard exploded onto the market I bought it by the pizza box full, or so it seems. So being challenged to work with chipboard again was fantastic and I loved, loved, loved the 2Crafty designs we received. Oh and thanks guys, the pack was more than generous. I couldn't possibly fit it all on the one layout so keep your eyes peeled for more of it to appear on layouts to come.

On this layout I sprayed the chipboard film strip, flourish and arrows with Dylusions Black Marble. The chevron chipboard I first painted with gesso and then inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Barn Door. Ordinarily the Distress Ink colours fade on gesso so to bring back the vibrancy of the colour and to get a soft, watercolour effect, I then applied a coat of Inkssentials Glossy Accents. The liquid of the Glossy Accents activates the water based ink and the two mix together as it dries. You can bet I'll be doing a lot more of that in the future!
