A quick share

Just a quick fly by from me today sharing the Christmas cards I've made for our all year round Christmas card challenge at ScrapChat. I've got to say I'm really rather enjoying it. I can't imagine why I haven't done this in past years. It doesn't take long to whip up five or six cards and now I've made 12 of the 60 or so cards I need to make! A brilliant idea if you ask me.

Anyways this month our challenge was Green & Silver .. ugh! Do you know what I reckon? I reckon Green & Silver was something of a real challenge for me and do you know what else I reckon? I reckon maybe I'm just a bit of a dufus because I set the challenge!!! D'oh! You reckon I'd set it to suit myself LOL! Moving on ..

He kissed me!

I set a monthly challenge over at ScrapChat and February being the month of love, I selected the following criteria ...

  • colours - pink and red
  • design requirement - KISS
  • technique - handwriting
  • lifelines - black, white, kraft, cream

I think having created the LO Big the night before, I was in a pretty good head space on the Sunday morning to create something simple (for me anyways) and this was what I came up with ...

bs&ch2me
products used:
cardstock - smooth black
patterned paper - Echo Park Yours Truly
alphas - American Crafts Thickers (Daiquiri, pink foam)
embellishments - Jillibean Soup Journaling Sprouts and Canvas Flowers,  Making Memories felt flower, Purple Pumpkin tickets and clouds, SU clips, Washi tape, baker's twine, various pink buttons
dies - Sizzix Primitive Hearts
other - Pure Black Zig Writer

I don't know about the rest of you but I always share my LOs with GB. Always. So when he came home from work last night I said to him "there's another LO on my table" and off he dutifully trundled to have a look see. When he came back he leaned down and kissed me! This LO earned me a kiss!!!! A girl's gotta be happy with that right?!   :)

PS: "bs&ch2me"??? An acronym for "be safe and come home to me". Sigh ...

Just fiddling ...

Wouldn't you know it ... a close girlfriend of mine (heh Sandy!) comes over for the weekend to scrap and chat and what happens? My mojo leaves the building! Sigh. So I had these photos of Bear with a pretty big tennis ball I wanted to scrap and believe it or not, after several hours of fiddling (yep LOL several hours!) this is what I came up with ...

Big
products used:
cardstock - SU Whisper White
patterned paper - Echo Park Sweet Summertime
alphas - American Crafts Thickers (Rootbeer Float, black foam)
dies/punches - Die-namics Dizzy Doily and Dizzy Doily Duo, SU Tasteful Trim, SU border punch
other - Pure Black Zig Writer, SU designer buttons, white pom pom trim

I'm happy with the LO despite how long it took me to complete because after all, during those several hours of fiddling there was a lot of catching up to do, lots of laughter and heh, I learned a new technique ... how to make pinwheel flowers and yep LOL, you'll be seeing a lot more of those on my LOs in the future!   :)

Merry Christmas!!

Huh?! Come again?!

LOL don't stress. It is only February. But this year I am determined to be organised come Christmas. That means having my cards made ahead of time. A number of my scrapping buddies feel the same way so over at ScrapChat we've having an All Year Round Christmas Card Challenge. January's challenge was to use the word Joy for inspiration.

Joy
products used:
cardstock - Prismatics
patterned paper - Lilybee Designs Christmas Town and SU DSP First Edition
alphas: Carolee's Creations tiny alphas (Milk Chocolate)
embellishments: Prima RAJA flower centres; Making Memories staples; various buttons; beads
trims: Chatterbox artsy.licious crochet trim; twine from Purple Pumpkin; burgundy net trim
dies: Tim Holtz Alterations Mini Paper Rosettes; Die-namics Rolled Flower; Cuttlebug Harlequin
other: Tim Holtz Distress Ink (fired brick)

I may be a day late, but I did it! I can't believe it LOL! I've actually made Christmas cards in February. I'm really hoping I can keep up the pace because this is something I've wanted to do for the past few years and each year I have failed miserably. This year I'm determined that come Christmas I will have plenty of cards to send out to family and friends; and yes LOL, some of them will just about keel over from the shock!

February's challenge is to use the colours green and silver. Ordinarily I think I'd pair green with gold so this will be a fun one to take on. Perhaps I'll go lime green? I'm thinking possibly some owls? Whatever the case I'm going to be buzzing if I get them done!   :)
