When in Rome .. with Kraft+

From day one when the amazing (love this chick) Sandra Wallace (heh San!) rolled out the fabulous Kraft+ challenge site I knew I wanted to participate. Each and every month. But I haven't. Life has conspired against me. Until now. This month is the month I get to do the challenge and what is it but zentangle doodling .. aargh!! I don't put pen to paper so precisely, randomly and yet in order. Its just not me. I just can't do it. Its so not me. But when the awesome (love this chick also) Sandra Brimelow (heh Sandy!), also my very special friend, threw down the challenge for me to do it, what could I do but give it a go?

When in Rome

OMGee this was a tough one. Seriously tough. I used one of Sandy's Kaisercraft stencils to get my basic pattern and what I've actually done is the result of constant having to fix mistakes. Never again. Ever. LOL.

So I zentangled/doodled my background cardstock. Great. It didn't look that bad, I thought. But then how is one supposed to use it without covering up all the hard work? Seeing as the background was so full on, I figured it made sense to keep the photo and layering simple and to use 'see through' products like vellum and punchinella.

Luckily for me I had the perfect photo that sort of matched what I was making and as it turns out, I'm not sure how else I could have scrapped this photo! So I guess I should maybe thank Sandy for insisting I do the Kraft+ challenge. But I don't think I will so don't tell her. LOL.  ;)

Anyways, if you fancy giving zentangling (or what I did which was effectively 'just' doodling) a go, why not check out the latest Kraft+ challenge HERE. You'll find a tonne of inspiration from the Design Team and guest designers. Now that this layout is done and dusted, I'm off to untangle my zens ..

  1. I'm so glad you did this one and challenged yourself, I knew you could do it, so I'm glad you stuck it out and proved me correct. It is the perfect background for the photo.
