Family .. with Scrap FX

I'm very excited to share with you the first of my design team layouts for Scrap FX.

Family

I was so excited when I learned that each month we'd be working with newly released chipboard and that we'd get to choose which of the newly released designs we wanted to work with. I was in chipboard heaven. Seriously.

As you probably know, its not very often that I'll use patterned paper as a background but this piece was just perfect for my photo so I had to use it. As I wasn't entirely sure how much mixed media I would 'throw' on it, I backed it onto a sheet of 1.8mm Chipboard Sheet so that if I did get heavy handed with mixed media products it wouldn't warp the paper.

Meanwhile did you even know that Scrap FX also does stencils and stamps? I had no idea. I think I've been too focussed on their chipboard all this time. Anyways, much to my excitement they do!!! I've used the Scribble Script stencil on this layout. You can browse the stencils range HERE and the stamps range HERE.

The newly released products I've used are the 2014 Year Pack, Love Scribble Frame and Family, mini. In case you're wondering where the chipboard word "love" fits into the picture, I cut it out of the Love Scribble Frame and where there was a space in the circle added the Family, mini. Cool huh?

I was pretty nervous creating my first Design Team page I must confess and I think fussed over this layout for far too long given its elegant simplicity. But in the end I'm glad I did because I think sometimes its the fussing over something for too long which actually makes the layout. That, plus some sensational chipboard!  ;)
