Scrap Friends - Colour Palette challenge #6

This is the current colour palette challenge at Scrap Friends ..

Isn't it divine?? As the name suggests, it does looks good enough to eat but when I sat down to scrap with these colours, I got more than a little stuck! I really, really wanted to give this challenge a go but seriously, these colours proved difficult for me. Pink and yellow??? In the end what I came up with, I think LOL, looks a lot less like berry cupcakes and more like a big, fat licorice all sorts ..

I think the reason I wanted to do this challenge in the first place is that it was more than just the colours that inspired me. The berries reminded me of this gorgeous photo of my girlfriend's (heh Tammi!) little girl with strawberries smeared all over her face. The doilies on the edge and the twine around the bottom of the photo reached out and grabbed me. Even the colour swatches jutting out from the side pulled me in. Although you can't see it on my LO so much, when I started the base of my LO I painted stripes of the colours on my background. As I built the layers some of those stripes disappeared, but I even painted them in the same order as they appeared on the colour palette!

Anyways, if you'd like to give this colour palette challenge a go, you have until November 14th 2012. Check it out HERE. If sketches are your thing they have an awesome one HERE. Oh and whilst you're there, Lizzy has recently uploaded some amazing Pearl Ex tutorials .. definitely worth checking out!    :)
